between the associated regions of Austin and the city of Oita, Japan.


The Austin-Oita Sister City Committee fosters goodwill between the sister cities through exchange activities focused on the areas of culture, education, business, and government.


Featured performances include:

Oita High School’s award-winning Shodo Troupe. Shodo Performance Calligraphy (書道パフォーマンス) is Japanese calligraphy drawn on large canvases with music as a team activity and has been gaining in popularity with young Japanese. We are excited to welcome 17 Oita High School Shodo students to Austin!

Sho & Shin Ukelele Duo from Austin playing ukelele music for a new generation. They will get you on your feet dancing!
