2025 Oita Japan Festival #OitaATX

Celebrate the culture of Japan at the Oita Japan Festival!

Saturday, September 20, 2025, 12 - 6 pm, doors open at 11:30 am

Location: The Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Drive, Austin, TX 78704

The tenth annual Oita Japan Festival #OitaATX is hosted by the Austin-Oita Sister City Committee (AOSCC) to celebrate Austin's Japanese Sister City, Oita.

This family-friendly festival includes Japanese food, kids' activities, cultural education and more. Final lineup and details coming soon.

  • TV favorites Chikage Windler and Adela Uchida will be at the festival!

  • Bamboo Boys Bluegrass from Oita with collaboration with Austin musicians

  • Take' Asazu will be performing a Shinto ceremony and bluefin tuna breakdown demonstration! A Japanese bluefin tuna will be flown into the Oita Fest, broken down by Chef Take', then made into fresh Bluefin Temaki. Pre-order link. Pre-order highly encouraged as we expect to sell out before the festival.
