Join us for a private Artist Talk with Daryl Howard at the Neill-Cochran House Museum on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. She will speak about their exhibition, The Floating World: Texas to Tokyo and its connection to the history of Ukiyo-e. She will provide an in-depth exploration of the history of Japan’s most influential artform and will share her own artistic journey, from growing up in San Antonio, Texas to her stint as a young art teacher in Tokyo Japan, followed by apprenticeship to Master Hodaka Yoshida.

The #OitaATX Festival is returning to the Long Center on September 20th!

Experience Japanese Bluegrass by the Bamboo Boys from Oita, J-POP idols, a Shinto ceremony with tuna breakdown, traditional dancing, sumo, martial arts demonstrations (kendo, jujutsu, kyudo), tea ceremony, kimono fashion show, and seminars on Japanese gardens, travel and etiquette, anime voice acting, and doing business in Japan β€” plus Japanese food and snacks, and an artisan and festival marketplace β€” and more!
